As the world began to reopen, I expanded my business by participating in local craft fairs, further fueling my passion. Over time, my confidence in my products and skills grew. To date, I have sold my creations in 29 states, offering a wide variety of items including custom clothing and ornaments. In 2023, I took a significant step by transitioning from Etsy to launching my own website, allowing me to showcase the products I am most passionate about. This milestone was followed by another exciting development: rebranding my business from Perna Crafty Creations to Highland Threads & Transfers and officially becoming an LLC.

Hello, my name is Mandi, and I am the proud owner of Highland Threads & Transfers. I founded Perna Crafty Creations during the COVID-19 shutdown while balancing a full-time career, assisting my daughter with school, and managing the challenges of the pandemic. I began experimenting with a Cricut machine, creating custom t-shirts, ornaments, and masks. What started as a small hobby quickly grew into a successful venture. One of my most memorable and rewarding orders came from a local church children's program, where I crafted 150 masks. This project led to a continued partnership, creating 120 custom
t-shirts for their summer program.
One of the aspects of my business that I truly enjoy is working on custom orders. I love when customers give me creative freedom, which has led to a diverse range of products, from custom wood signs and all-occasion ornaments to t-shirts and memorial canvases. The possibilities for creativity are endless, and I thrive on bringing unique ideas to life.
In late 2024, we took a leap of faith and invested in a 16-needle embroidery machine, driven by a dream and a passion for our craft. What started as a side hustle quickly gained momentum, thanks to the support of local businesses, creative customers, and our dedication to custom designs and quality craftsmanship.
